The steps of Halal certification
To obtain HQC Halal certification, our partners must follow a 6-step procedure, from the application through the audit to the validation of the certificate.
Application
Companies that wish to certify their products as Halal must first send us a certification application. To do this they register on our platform and fill in a form with all the necessary information, covering both the company and the processes it uses to ensure it operates in accordance with Halal standards.
Contract
Once the application is submitted, an evaluation of the file is carried out to determine the company’s Halal compliance. A contract is then signed between the parties indicating the different types of certification.
Preliminary audit (F1)
Once the contract has been signed, an initial audit (F1) evaluates the Halal conformity of the company seeking certification. Our audit team performs a preliminary assessment, beginning with a review of documentation on raw materials, established procedures, and packing, storage and transportation methods. If the company meets the preliminary requirements, the process proceeds to audit F2.
Audit (F2)
A second audit (F2) completes a more detailed evaluation. Our experts follow a strict verification plan. The criteria assessed include the production or slaughter process, control procedures, equipment, facilities, and the cleaning and disinfection methods used to prevent cross-contamination with non-Halal products. Samples may also be taken for laboratory testing.
Decision making
After the audit, a report is made and sent to our Halal Committee, together with laboratory results if there were any. If all the evaluations made by the experts are positive, the company is considered to be in compliance with Halal certification.
Halal certification
When the company gets a positive rating, it receives a Halal certificate that it can display on its premises. Additional checks and audits are then regularly organised to ensure the continuity of the Halal quality of your products.
